J-PAL LatAm was established in October 2009 to expand J-PAL advocacy work in Latin America and include Latin American researchers in the J-PAL network. Based at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, J-PAL LatAm works to improve the effectiveness of social programs world-wide, by supporting researchers working on randomized trials and disseminating their results in order to provide policymakers with reliable information that can make their policies more effective.

J-PAL LatAm se inauguró su oficina en octubre del 2009 con el fin de impulsar el trabajo de J-PAL en Latinoamérica e incluir a investigadores regionales al network de J-PAL. Ubicada en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, J-PAL LatAm busca mejorar la efectividad de los programas sociales en todo el mundo, apoyando a los investigadores que trabajan en evaluaciones aleatorias y dando a conocer sus resultados. Asimismo, J-PAL proporciona información fiable a aquellas personas que se encargan de diseñar programas sociales o Políticas Públicas, para que sus proyectos sean más efectivos.
