Anna Custers joined J-PAL in 2010. She is currently working on the Urban Sanitation project in Orissa. Previously she worked at J-PAL Europe, Paris, on two randomized evaluations of programs focussing on the employment situation of youth in France.

Anna holds a Masters degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics. For this program she wrote her thesis on financial literacy, based on experimental evidence from a financial literacy training program for microfinance clients of Samhita Community Development Services in Bhopal, India. Prior to this, she was a junior researcher at the Social and Economic Council in the Netherlands and worked with Samhita, focusing on their microfinance and health education program.
