David joined J-PAL LAC in July 2011 and is currently working on two randomized evaluations. The first examines the impact of scholarships designed to better prepare low-income high school students for Chile’s university entrance exam. The second examines the role of dental treatment given to low-income workers in terms of employment opportunities, self-esteem, and discrimination. David holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Whitman College. His research interests include trade, development, and human rights.
