Masyhur Hilmy

Masyhur was a Research Manager at J-PAL Southeast Asia where he managed several randomized evaluations on social protection. He worked on a project that aims to expand the coverage of national health insurance (JKN) among informal non-poor population, a long-term evaluation of a community block grant program (PNPM Generasi), and a project that investigates the impact of household’s knowledge of social program requirements to their investment decisions. He also supported the baseline measurement to measure the impact of sustainable coffee certification to smallholder coffee farmers in South Sumatera and another project that explores the impact of past salary increase to tax auditors' performance. Before he joined J-PAL SEA in 2014, he worked with Indonesia Mengajar to improve education quality in Banggai, Central Sulawesi. Masyhur holds an M.Sc. degree in astronomy from Kyoto University, Japan.
