Prayatn

Prayatn, an NGO with an established presence in Rajasthan, works on gender and political empowerment through increasing people’s participation in local political offices. They have undertaken several pre-election campaigns in Rajasthan to create awareness and encourage voters to choose candidates based on objective measures.  In addition, Prayatn has undertaken community-level initiatives to encourage dialogue among candidates from different political parties prior to elections to discuss their policies, with a particular focus on women’s empowerment.

Prayatn partnered with J-PAL to evaluate the effect one such informational campaign had on voter behavior and the election of female leaders.
