Ph.D. student in economics, Arnaud Philippe joined J-PAL Europe in October 2011. He is currently working on a legal aid project (information, advice, assistance) carried out by a Belgium lawyer association (Avocat Sans Frontière) in several African countries. He is also studying the opportunity to evaluate a similar program which will start in Uganda countryside. After a Master in economics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and a one year job for the development lab IPA in Morocco, he is now starting a PhD thesis on the impact of economic opportunity on recidivism after jail.
