Hira Siddiqui holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from MIT. She first joined J-PAL as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Esther Duflo during her senior year at MIT, where she worked on randomized evaluations in the fields of education, healthcare and women’s empowerment. She has also held summer internships at HSBC in corporate finance and at NERA Economic Consulting in financial litigation. After graduating from MIT in 2010, Hira spent a year in Pakistan doing policy research for a think tank in Islamabad. She rejoined the J-PAL Cambridge Office in May 2011 to work as a Training Analyst.
