Sanchita Ohri is a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where she works in the Energy and Environment portfolio. She leads the Direct Benefit Transfers of Electricity projects in Rajasthan and Punjab. Prior to working on this project, she was working on the GiveItUp project in Mumbai as a Research Associate.
Sanchita graduated from Boston University with a master's in arts in development economics in December 2016 and also holds a bachelor's of science in economics from the University of Warwick. As part of her thesis in her master's program, she researched providing financial assistance to female migrants from Indonesia. Her interests mainly lie in female empowerment through access to education and energy, among many other things.
