Shivalika is a Senior Research Associate with JPAL-SA, currently engaged on the pilot of Direct Benefit Transfers for Electricity Project in Rajasthan. In this capacity, she anchors the monitoring and evaluation efforts of JPAL for effective implementation of the pilot in close coordination with Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. The project seeks to innovate and measure the impact of delivering electricity subsidy as an incentive for farmers to conserve agriculture electricity, and hence groundwater.
Prior to JPAL, Shivalika served with the Agriculture Division of NITI Aayog (GoI’s think tank) as a part of its Young Professional Program where she made a significant contribution to multiple discourses such as Doubling Farmers’ Incomes, Reducing Dependence on Timber Imports and Regulating Domestic Tobacco Production. Her previous experience also includes evaluations for prominent governmental and non-governmental programs including MGNREGA in Bihar and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana in Gujarat & Himachal Pradesh. She also has briefly worked with non-profits such as California based Good World Solutions to anchor their field pilot with microfinance clients in Delhi’s slums.
Shivalika is a post-graduate in Rural Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
