Seema Jayachandran is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Northwestern University. Her work focuses primarily on health in developing countries, and she also has research interests in education, labor markets, the environment, and political economy. She is currently conducting randomized evaluations in Uganda, Zambia, and India related to child health, environmental conservation, and gender attitudes.
Seema earned her PhD from Harvard University. She is chair of J-PAL's Gender sector and was co-chair of J-PAL's Health sector from 2012 to 2018.
