JOI Brazil Manager, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean

Edivaldo Constantino is J-PAL LAC’s Manager for the Jobs and Opportunity Initiative Brazil (JOI Brazil). Before joining J-PAL in August 2021, he worked as a visiting professor at the Economics Department of the University of São Paulo (FEA-USP) and as the Senior Economist at DataZAP+, the real estate intelligence area of OLX Brazil. At DataZAP+, he developed pricing models, communicated these technical results to the press, and built relationships with internal and external stakeholders. He also has experience working as a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and at the Brazilian Institute for Economic Research (FIPE), developing econometric models related to crime, real estate, and innovation.

Edivaldo holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of São Paulo, and a Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). He is currently part of the Brazilian Black Economists Network (REPP) and is interested in applied microeconomics, labor markets, and regional and urban economics.
