Heidi Williams is a Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College. Her research focuses on how society can best support science and innovation and how we can best ensure that science and innovation generate broad benefits to society. She is the director of Science Policy at the Institute for Progress, as well as co-chair of J-PAL’s Science for Progress Initiative, editor of the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), where she co-directs the Health Care program and the Innovation Policy working group. Heidi is also a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a former MacArthur and Sloan fellow, and winner of the ASHEcon Medal. She received her PhD in economics from Harvard University in 2010.
