Bijoyetri Samaddar is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where she works on the CaTCH project for improving maternal and child health outcomes for young mothers in Haryana. Prior to joining this project, Bijoyetri has worked as a Research Consultant at J-PAL South Asia on the Delhi Maternity Health Benefit scoping study. In 2017, she was a candidate for the IIM-Udaipur Duke University summer school for her work with the NGO Seva Mandir on issues faced by young and adolescent girls of the community. Her master’s research was an ethnographic inquiry into the lives of the people affected by the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and erstwhile stateless persons currently living along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Bijoyetri holds a bachelor of arts (honors) in English literature from Miranda House, University of Delhi and a master of arts in gender studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
