Aditi Premkumar
Research Manager, J-PAL South Asia
Aditi Premkumar is a Research Manager at J-PAL South Asia, where she facilitates engagement with lead researchers and governments, as well as implementation, technology, and knowledge partners and donors. She works on The Role of Governance in Maintaining Local Public Goods: Evidence from Rural Drinking Water Systems in Karnataka, translating research design into field execution, coordinating survey and intervention rollouts, monitoring data quality and field protocols, troubleshooting challenges, and feeding field insights back to the PIs.
Aditi started with field-based research at J-PAL South Asia, where she worked on a scoping study across 20 rural districts in Tamil Nadu to understand why women were less likely to claim benefits under the state health insurance scheme. As a Senior RA, she completed Ashoka University’s Data Science for Social Impact course, building skills in Python, R, and QGIS and working with large administrative datasets, including the National JJM Dashboard. Her work on JJM involved engaging with senior bureaucrats and local Panchayats.
Aditi holds a Master of Science in South Asian Studies from the University of Oxford, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad.
