Himmat Singh Chouhan

Himmat Singh Chouhan is a Senior Project Associate at J-PAL South Asia, where he currently leads the field implementation of the Mindspark Learning Project in Himachal Pradesh. As a member of the Research Operation group, he helps lead and train the field team, creates field plans, coordinates with schools, ensures student assessment and data quality meet J-PAL standards, and reports daily to senior verticals.

Prior to his current role, Himmat worked with Vidya Bhavan Society and Seva Mandir on a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) health project, and later worked as a facilitator and teacher at Vidya Bhavan, Udaipur. He subsequently worked as a Program Associate at Seva Mandir, Udaipur, managing community development and child rights programs. He joined J-PAL South Asia, IFMR, in September 2017 as a Field Manager and was promoted to Project Associate in 2022. He worked on large-scale randomized evaluations for Mindspark Rajasthan, RTE Chhattisgarh, Anganwadi ECE Gujarat, and NIPUN Bharat UP.

Himmat holds a Masters of Social Work from Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth University, Udaipur, and a Bachelor of Education from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.
