Parvatha Varthani Kumar Lakshmi Selvi

Parvatha Varthani K L is a Policy Manager at J-PAL South Asia, based in Chennai, where she leads the strategic partnership with the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2026, Parvatha worked as a Project Management Consultant with the Government of Tamil Nadu, where she led inclusive education initiatives for children with special needs and helped establish the state's autism strategy. Earlier, as a Strategy Consultant with the International Innovation Corps (University of Chicago Trust), she led project management for the Government of Tamil Nadu's Integrated Finance and Human Resource Management System and worked with USAID's Learning4Impact program. She has also held roles with Investgarh Chhattisgarh and Hand in Hand India, and was a Policy in Action Fellow with the Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) and a Fellow with Citizens for Public Leadership.

Parvatha holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
