Ben Kim is a Policy Associate - AI at J-PAL Global, where he supports Project AI Evidence, contributing to efforts to identify, generate, and translate rigorous evidence on the use of artificial intelligence to address social challenges. As a member of the Policy and Communications group, Ben works with governments, NGOs, academics, and others to build partnerships and advance evidence-informed policymaking.

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2026, Ben worked as a Research Assistant in the Finance Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. In this role, he analyzed municipal bond markets and contributed to research and policy briefings, including work examining AI-related capital investment and financial risks.

Ben holds BAs in economics and mathematics from the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar. He completed an economics thesis with highest distinction examining the effects of automation risk on unions.
