North America Covid-19 Recovery and Resilience Initiative
The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in incalculable losses for millions of Americans, particularly among low-income communities and communities of color. As decision-makers work to address the pressing and unparalleled public health crisis, urgent questions remain on how the COVID-19 pandemic will impact the economic well-being and livelihoods of people in our country once the immediate crisis has resolved. The United States is facing an unemployment crisis, education setbacks for millions of students, and an uncertain path forward.
J-PAL North America’s Covid-19 Recovery and Resilience Initiative aims to create a playbook of evidence-based policies to help communities recover in the wake of Covid-19. The initiative works with nonprofits, government and industry leaders, academic researchers, and other organizations to understand what questions matter most to them and help them use rigorous evaluation to generate evidence on priority research questions related to the Covid-19 response.
