Teevrat Garg

Teevrat Garg (he/him) is an Associate Professor of Economics in the School of Global Policy and Strategy at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on decarbonization, energy transitions, climate adaptation and environmental policy. In recent years, he has conducted research with policy makers in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Mexico, Uganda and Vietnam.
Teevrat has served as a Technical Contributor to the 5th National Climate Assessment and as the academic advisor for the Green Growth Initiative at the International Growth Center. He is co-leading the economic impacts assessment for the 5th Climate Assessment for California and currently serves as editor at the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (JAERE). Prior to joining UC San Diego, Teevrat was a postdoctoral fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Teevrat holds a PhD. in applied economics and management from Cornell University.
