Aditi Premkumar

Aditi Premkumar is a Research Manager at J-PAL South Asia, based in Bengaluru, where she facilitates engagement with lead researchers, governments, implementation partners, technology partners, and donors on the Role of Governance in Maintaining Local Public Goods: Evidence from Rural Drinking Water Systems in Karnataka project. As a member of the Research team, she translates research designs into field execution, coordinates survey and intervention rollouts, monitors data quality and adherence to protocols, troubleshoots implementation challenges, and brings field insights to the Principal Investigators.

Aditi began her field-based research journey at J-PAL South Asia, working on a scoping study across 20 rural districts in Tamil Nadu on women claiming state health insurance benefits. As a Senior Research Associate, she completed the Data Science for Social Impact course at Ashoka University, developing skills in Python, R, and QGIS and working with large administrative datasets, including the National JJM Dashboard. Her work has also involved engaging with senior bureaucrats and Panchayats, with interests in institutions, public goods, water, and political outcomes.

Aditi holds an MSc in South Asian Studies from the University of Oxford and a BA in Social Sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad.
