Zil Kalpesh Gala

Zil Gala is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia, where she works on evaluating agroforestry adoption by smallholder farmers in India. As a research associate, she supports in-field scoping activities, development and piloting of survey instruments, ensuring data accuracy, and preparing analysis-ready datasets.

Prior to joining J-PAL South Asia in 2026, she had worked with a grassroots NGO in Maharashtra, India, designing and leading projects in socio-economic development of tribal communities through access to entitlements, rural livelihoods, and natural resource management.

Zil holds an MA in development studies from IIT Guwahati and a BA in psychology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
