Amena Ihab

Amena Ihab is a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa, where she works on microfinance evaluations that examine how different loan products and interest rates affect firms’ investment decisions, financial behavior, and repayment outcomes. She also handles an evaluation assessing whether access to safe filtered water improves household health and reduces women’s mental load in rural Egypt.

Amena holds an MSc in Development Economics from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a double bachelor’s degree in Economics from Cairo University and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonn.
