Research Associate, J-PAL South Asia

Prachee Daithankar is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia. She is currently working on the Maths and Reading Games Pilot Project in Pune, Maharashtra. She assists in designing these games for students in Grades 1 and 2, and pilots them in six government schools across urban and rural areas of Pune. Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) is her focus area.

She entered the education space through the Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship and continued as a Resource Person afterward. Based in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, she worked on the capacity building of government school and Anganwadi teachers at scale. Her focus areas included Early Childhood Education (ECE), Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in primary grades, and mathematics education in upper primary grades. She also worked with adolescents and youth on Constitutional values.

Before transitioning into education, she worked in engineering roles in India and the USA.

She holds a Master's degree in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado Boulder, USA, and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Pune, India. She also completed a one-year Certificate Program in Management from the S. J. Mehta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India.
