Morgan Hardy is an assistant professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. Her work focuses broadly on private enterprise development and employment in low-income countries. She employs a variety of experimental and applied methods, usually utilizing data originally collected from Africa. Her projects in Ethiopia, Ghana, and Nigeria, cover many related topics including combating youth unemployment, improving small business profits, community-level impacts of industrialization, gender pay inequality, and the dynamics of small business owner networks. She received her PhD in economics from Brown University in 2016.
