Senior Policy Associate, J-PAL Africa
Julie is a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL Africa's Education Team, where she works with Julie is a Senior Policy Associate at J-PAL Africa's Education Team, working with affiliates, policymakers and practitioners to advance J-PAL's mission of using evidence to inform policy, with a focus on scaling education projects through a gender-sensitive lens.
Prior to joining J-PAL, Julie worked at IDinsight, leading on a learning partnership with CARE International to develop strategies for scaling lean, sustainable interventions across Zambia, and partnering with the FMPS - Morocco's largest public preschool provider - to build M&E systems and deliver capacity-building workshops to Moroccan government and NGO stakeholders on how to better integrate evidence based decision-making in their processes. Earlier roles at Cordis Bright, 3ie and the Reform Initiative for Transparent Economies (RITE) spanned systematic reviews, RCTs, qualitative research and policy-facing report writing for clients including the UK Home Office and the Department for Education.
Julie holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy (Development) with Distinction from LSE and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies (Arabic and Persian) from the University of Cambridge. She is multilingual, with native French and professional proficiency in Arabic and Persian.
