Zeina Osama
Senior Policy Associate, J-PAL Middle East and North Africa
Zeina Osama is a Senior Policy, Training, and Events Associate in J-PAL Middle East and North Africa, based at the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation under the Egypt Impact Lab embedded at the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development. In this role, she is part of the gender, labor, and capacity-building sectors, working closely with policymakers, donors, and practitioners to facilitate the use of rigorous evidence in the planning and execution of development programs. She is also the co-coordinator of the Egypt Impact Lab, where she supports planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Prior to joining J-PAL MENA in 2023, she worked at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development as a senior economic researcher, participating in planning and managing economic research and economic policy.
Zeina holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University.
