The Egypt Impact Lab (EIL) is convening a policy dialogue titled "Insights for Better Employment Outcomes: Understanding Labor Market Mismatch in Egypt."
The policy dialogue marks the dissemination of the first completed needs assessment funded through the Egypt Impact Lab (EIL). The study examines labor market mismatch in Egypt using nationally representative labor market data, offering new insights into the alignment between workers' qualifications and labor market demand. The findings contribute to ongoing discussions on improving employment outcomes through more responsive education, skills development, and labor market policies.
The event will feature a presentation by J-PAL-affiliated researcher Caroline Krafft (University of Minnesota), lead researcher of the study, followed by a moderated discussion bringing together representatives from government, development partners, academia, and the research community. The dialogue aims to encourage the exchange of perspectives on the study's findings, explore their implications for policy, and identify priorities for future research and collaboration.
