Research Fellow, J-PAL Southeast Asia

Lolita Moorena is a Research Fellow at J-PAL Southeast Asia and a PhD candidate in economics at the Australian National University. She specializes in development economics, with a focus on gender, labor markets, and digital finance inclusion.

Her research examines how intrahousehold dynamics, institutional changes of childcare availability and Domestic Violence law, and misperceptions on women's preference on work amenities shape women’s economic opportunities in Indonesia. Lolita has worked on interdisciplinary projects combining quantitative analysis with policy design, often collaborating with research teams and development organizations. Her broader research agenda aims to generate rigorous evidence that can inform scalable policies to reduce gender inequality and improve economic outcomes in developing contexts.
