Islam Waheed is a Senior Research Operations Associate at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa, where he supports the implementation of randomized evaluations, oversees field operations, and leads capacity-building initiatives for staff and partner organizations.
Prior to rejoining J-PAL, Islam worked with organizations including Pathfinder International, Save the Children, and Misr El Kheir Foundation, focusing on legal empowerment, community education, and child protection. He is also an accredited trainer on Egypt’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD).
With over 16 years of experience, Islam brings together legal expertise and international development practice. Islam is an attorney before the High Court of Appeal and holds a Ph.D. in Private International Law, specializing in electronic contracting and digital transformation.
