Overview

Join us for a day of inspiration, collaboration, and impact.
J-PAL North America at MIT, the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities at the University of Notre Dame, and King County, Washington, invite you to a convening that brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers committed to advancing equitable community outcomes through the generation and use of evidence.

This event will spotlight the evolving landscape of evidence-informed policymaking, showcasing how leading local governments are leveraging research and data to inform decisions, improve services, and drive meaningful change. Attendees will explore actionable strategies, current research, and emerging opportunities for academic-practitioner partnerships that enhance policy effectiveness and equity.

Event highlights include:

  • Evidence Fair: Meet national organizations at the forefront of evidence generation and use and learn how innovative public agencies are embedding data and evaluation into their daily operations to improve community outcomes.
  • Topical Policy Sessions: Participate in deep dives on pressing policy areas—including access to the social safety net, transit, child care, and evidence-informed budgeting. These sessions will foster dialogue between researchers and practitioners to address ongoing challenges, share insights, and spark new research collaborations.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with a dynamic community of policymakers, researchers, and leaders committed to using evidence to advance equitable community outcomes. Share ideas, form partnerships, and explore new avenues for collaboration.

The event will be from 10am to 3:15pm, with an evening reception from 4pm to 6pm.
