Asra Khan

Asra Khan is a Policy Manager - AI at J-PAL South Asia, where she works on strategy and partnerships to advance the responsible and evidence-based use of artificial intelligence. She works with governments, researchers, technology organizations, and philanthropic partners to identify high-impact applications of AI, generate evidence through randomized evaluations, and translate research into actionable policy.

Prior to joining J-PAL South Asia in 2025, Asra worked as a Privacy Specialist at Amazon, focusing on data protection, artificial intelligence, and risk management. She also served as a Junior Policy Analyst at the International Telecommunication Union, where she contributed to research on emerging technologies and supported international policy processes and multistakeholder engagement.

Asra holds a Master of Arts in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University with concentrations in technology law and international business, and a Bachelor's degree in political science from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
