Project Associate, J-PAL South Asia

Sanjeet Kumar is a Project Associate at J-PAL South Asia, specializing in field research and high-quality data collection. He began his journey as a field surveyor, gaining direct exposure to communities and gradually developing a diverse set of skills in field operations, data management, and stakeholder engagement. Today, he leads data collection activities, oversees field staff, manages project implementation, logistics, and administrative functions across Bihar, and additionally serves as Patna office in-charge, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for the team. He currently works on the Bihar Inclusive Livelihood Programme (BRILP), known as the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana (SJY) Rural project.

Prior to this long-term engagement, Sanjeet contributed to multiple research and field implementation projects across core sectors such as education, health, environment and energy, and social protection. In his current role, he plays a key role in strengthening field processes, conducting rigorous quality checks, facilitating feedback sessions, and ensuring accurate and efficient execution of field research.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from Snatak College, Nalanda, affiliated with Magadh University, and holds a Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA), equipping him with strong technical skills, experience in managing project-level MIS, and operational expertise that complement his field research leadership. Sanjeet is multilingual and communicates fluently in Hindi, Magahi, Bhojpuri, and English, enabling effective engagement with diverse communities and stakeholders.
