Mohammed Bello Mohammed
Policy Associate, J-PAL Global
Mohammed Bello is a Policy Associate at J-PAL Global. He supports the Health sector and fosters new evaluations of health AI tools in low- and middle-income countries through his work on the Evidence for AI in Health (EVAH) initiative. As part of the Policy and Communications group, Mohammed works with government, NGO, academic, and other partners to advance evidence-informed policymaking.
Prior to joining J-PAL in 2026, Mohammed worked as an undergraduate development economics researcher, investigating how social networks can enhance public health information systems in rural Pakistan. Mohammed also worked as a community canvasser at CAIR Sacramento Valley, where he helped the Sacramento region access legal, immigration, and public health services. He also interned at the Government Accountability Office, working to increase flood insurance take-up in the United States.
Mohammed holds an MPP from the University of California, Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, where he received the Smolensky Prize for Outstanding Advanced Policy Analysis. He received his BA in Economics from the University of California, Davis, where he specialized in poverty and inequality.
