Research Manager, J-PAL South Asia

Aneysha Roy is a Research Manager at J-PAL South Asia, based in Delhi, where she leads the monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework for the Every Child Counts project, which focuses on scaling early childhood mathematics education programming into government classrooms across India. As a member of the Research team, she works across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Telangana, Srinagar District, Madhya Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Prior to joining J-PAL, Aneysha worked as a consultant with the World Bank’s Global Poverty department, conducting labour market and welfare analysis across household surveys in Sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia and Pacific, South Asia, and the Middle East. She also worked with SEWA Bharat in Delhi, where she led multi-state research on digital livelihoods, cash transfers, and health interventions, and coordinated research and managed maternal and child health programs at Tata Projects Limited.

Aneysha holds a Master of International Development Policy from Georgetown University, an MA in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, an MA in Industrial Psychology from the University of Mumbai, and a BA in Psychology and English Literature from Sophia College.
