Martina Björkman Nyqvist

Martina Björkman Nyqvist is an Associate Professor of Economics at Stockholm School of Economics. She is the Executive Director of the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Misum) and Acting Mistra Professor of Sustainable Markets. Her work focuses on health and education in developing countries. In particular, she studies the provision and impact of public services to the poor in Sub Saharan Africa. She has conducted a randomized evaluation of a community-based monitoring program in Uganda and is working on an evaluation of a comprehensive community empowerment project also in Uganda.

Martina earned her PhD from Stockholm University.

Martina has served as a lecturer at J-PAL training events.
