William is a Professor of Economics at Université Catholique de Louvain and Co-Chair of J-PAL's Research, Education, and Training vertical. He wrote his dissertation on the analysis of credit demand and the evaluation of policies improving access to credit in three countries: Serbia, Brazil, and Morocco, where he worked before joining J-PAL in 2006. His current research focuses on access to credit, poverty, and health issues. He is currently working on several randomized evaluations in Morocco, Pakistan, and France.
He holds a PhD from the University of Paris, Sorbonne.
William serves as Co-Chair of J-PAL's Research vertical. He has also lectured at J-PAL training events.
