Himmat Singh Chouhan

Himmat Singh Chouhan is a Senior Project Associate at J-PAL South Asia, based in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, where he leads the field implementation of the HP Mindspark project across Solan and Kangra. As a member of the Research Operation team, he leads and trains field teams, develops field plans, coordinates with schools, ensures the quality of student assessments and data, and reports on field activities to senior verticals.

Himmat has over 15 years of experience in development and education research. Prior to joining J-PAL South Asia, he worked with Vidya Bhavan Society, Seva Mandir, and other organisations in Udaipur across education, community development, and child rights. He joined J-PAL South Asia at IFMR as a Field Manager in 2017 and has since worked on projects including Mindspark Rajasthan, RTE Chhattisgarh, Anganwadi ECE Gujarat, and NIPUN Bharat Uttar Pradesh, along with supporting survey design, Hindi translation, and field execution.

Himmat holds a Master of Social Work from Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth University, Udaipur, and a Bachelor of Education from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.
