Senior Research Associate, J-PAL Southeast Asia

Gaby is a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL Southeast Asia. As a part of the research team, she currently works on a project focused on interventions to improve children's numeracy skills.

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2025, she served as a monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) consultant at UNHCR Indonesia, where she led the evaluation of a digital livelihoods program for refugees. She also worked as a research manager at GovTech Edu (Ina Digital), overseeing foundational research to inform curriculum and technology development for a national teacher platform. Her earlier tenure at J-PAL involved supporting evaluations on child marriage prevention, labor market access, and village governance.

Gaby holds an MSc in cognitive and decision sciences from University College London (UCL). Her thesis explored the dynamics of communities experiencing group relative deprivation in the context of ambiguously justified inequality. She is passionate about participatory research methods, inclusive program design, and the use of behavioral science to strengthen public policy.
