Aprille Knox is Associate Director of Policy at J-PAL Global, where she works with governments, donors, NGOs, academics, and others to build partnerships and advance evidence-informed policymaking. She helps guide J-PAL’s Policy and Communications vertical, which synthesizes and shares insights from randomized evaluations to inform policy design and scale decisions.

Aprille began her career at J-PAL in 2017 and has held successive roles in the Policy and Communications group. In addition, Aprille oversees learning agenda development for the Strategic Impact Evaluation and Learning (SIEL) program, a learning partnership between the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), and J-PAL aimed at embedding rigorous evidence into FCDO’s development and foreign policy decisions.

Prior to joining J-PAL, Aprille worked in a variety of roles related to advancing state capacity and addressing fragility, including with IPA in Liberia, Results for Development Institute, and the United States Peace Corps in Guinea. She holds a master’s degree in Global Affairs from Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Boston College.

Outside of work, Aprille plans every vacation around a good hike and, when at home, enjoys tending to her plants and learning how to crochet.
