Research Associate, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean
Otavio Canozzi Conceição is a Research Associate at J-PAL LAC, where he works on the Jobs and Opportunity Initiative Brazil (JOI Brazil). He is an applied microeconomist whose research uses administrative data to shed light on important issues for governments and societies in the fields of education, public finance, health, firm development and crime.
Prior to joining J-PAL, he worked as an impact evaluation consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on projects related to the modernization of the public sector in Brazil and for the Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Firms (SEBRAE/RS). He is also a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at São Paulo School of Economics (EESP/FGV).
