Julia Kaufman

Julia Kaufman is a Policy Manager at J-PAL Africa, where she develops partnerships with researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to generate and use evidence on private sector development, firm growth, and job creation. 

Prior to joining J-PAL in 2025, she worked at the Center for Global Development on development finance and global health policy, and at the Asian Development Bank on private sector development impact. She has also supported research on frontline healthcare in Rwanda and child mental health in Kenya. Julia holds an MPA from Princeton University and a BA in Global Health and International Comparative Studies from Duke University.
