Benjamin Marx is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Sciences Po in Paris. His research interests are in political economy and development economics. His current research focuses on understanding the determinants of political accountability, state capacity, and voting behavior in sub-Saharan Africa and in Indonesia. Another strand of his research studies the political economy of religion. Ben has conducted randomized evaluations aimed at improving voter information and participation in Kenya and Uganda. He received his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
