Nurina Merdikawati

Nurina Merdikawati is a postdoctoral research fellow at J-PAL Southeast Asia. As a postdoc, Nurina conducts independent research and delivers impact evaluation training. She is an applied microeconomist and her research interests are in the area of Development, Gender, and Labour. She is currently developing research projects on improving female labor force participation and access and use of digital financial services in Indonesia. Her prior research spans on the impact of labour market regulation and financial inclusion, among others. Prior to J-PAL, she worked as a consultant for ADB, JANCPEC, contributor to the Economist, Research Associate at National University of Singapore (NUS) and INSEAD, and teacher at Keming Primary School.

Nurina received her PhD degree in Economics from Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. She earned Master in Public Policy from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS, and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from Nanyang Technological University.
