Yasmine Elkhateeb
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, J-PAL Middle East and North Africa
Yasmine Elkhateeb is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at J-PAL Middle East and North Africa. She is also a Lecturer of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University and a Short-Term Consultant to the Office of the Chief Economist for the MENA region at the World Bank. Her research interests include Development Economics, Gender Economics, Migration Economics, and Political Economy. She is currently handling a project on the impact of nursery quality, empowerment, and nutrition interventions on early childhood development and women’s employment in Egypt.
Prior to joining J-PAL in 2024, she was a Teaching and Research Fellow at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Yasmine holds a PhD degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Development Economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from both Cairo University and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
