Female employment rates in the MENA region are among the lowest globally, particularly in rural settings. Several training programs have been designed to help women join the labor market by offering skills training; however, the impact of these interventions on broader societal norms, beyond the direct impact on the target groups, is still unclear.

Researchers are conducting a randomized evaluation to test the impact of a nursing skills training program targeting female youth based in Assiut and Sohag, Egypt, on employment outcomes for those youth and for their broader social network.

Research ongoing; results forthcoming.
