Policy Associate, J-PAL North America
Yiping Li is a Policy Associate at J-PAL North America, where she primarily supports work in crime and violence prevention and provides technical assistance to government and implementing partners. As a member of the Policy group, she writes evaluation summaries and also contributes to the administrative data catalog and the evaluation toolkit.
Prior to joining J-PAL in July 2019, Yiping was a Research Assistant at the Access to Justice Lab at Harvard Law School, where she conducted research on the ethics of randomized evaluation in the legal profession, and at the Harvard Lab for Developmental Studies, where she conducted her senior thesis research. She has also worked as a community organizer in Chicago, advocating for increased access to mental health services for local residents.
Yiping holds a BA in psychology with a secondary in classical civilizations, and a language citation in Latin from Harvard, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Highest Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. She also speaks Mandarin and Cantonese fluently.
