Pawan Kumar

Pawan is a Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia and based in Gaya, Bihar. Currently, he is working in the Gender and Politics sector with Soledad Artiz Prillaman, Stanford University and Jonathan Phillips, Leiden University, where he manages the implementation of the project – ‘When do women participate in politics? Studying networks of information and social pressure’.

Erstwhile, Pawan worked intensively as a consultant with Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN) structuring standard operating processes, designing training modules, and facilitating on-field implementation of the Rural Youth Skills, Employment, and Enterprises Networks programs; thus, building relationship with the government departments, community institutions, CSOs and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the program success. Pawan has worked in CARE India as Block Coordinator, Monitoring & Learning Evaluation Unit and ensured successful completion of Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child & Adolescent Health Project in Nalanda, Bihar. Pawan holds a Masters in Development from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru.
