Michala Riis-Vestergaard is a Research and Training Lead at J-PAL Global. She manages and develops resources and training offerings on impact evaluations for policymakers and researchers; this work includes management of J-PAL’s research resources and the capacity strengthening part of J-PAL’s Strategic Impact Evaluation and Learning collaboration with FCDO.

Michala started her journey with J-PAL as Postdoctoral Associate at J-PAL Global. Prior to that, she worked at The ROCKWOOL Foundation in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she designed and managed large-scale randomized impact evaluations of social programs. Her PhD dissertation analyzed the results of a randomized impact evaluation of a parent-oriented language intervention for preschool children in Denmark.

Michala holds a PhD in psychology and social policy from Princeton University, a MSc in economics from University of Copenhagen, and a MSc in human decision science from Maastricht University.
