Rebecca Thornton

Rebecca Thornton is a Professor in the Department of Economics in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Prior to that she was an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan in the Department of Economics and Population Studies Center. Her research focuses on education and health as well as how individuals respond to financial incentives in these areas. She has worked on a randomized evaluation of a merit-based scholarship in Kenya. She is also working on randomized evaluations examining HIV testing and prevention and menstruation and education in Nepal.

Rebecca has served as a lecturer at J-PAL training events.
