Rafael Tiara
Senior Research Associate, J-PAL Latin America and the Caribbean
Rafael Tiara Torres is a Research Manager at J-PAL LAC, where he works on research projects led by J-PAL affiliates Natalia Rigol and Ben Roth. These projects involve experimental evaluations of microfinance, conducted in collaboration with Fondo Esperanza, as well as other initiatives focused on entrepreneurship in low-income countries and the design and targeting of financial products.
His research interests encompass development economics and household finance. Rafael holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MSc in Applied Economics from the University of Chile.
